PRIVATE HITTING LESSONS
Lasting results proven to win
Private Hitting lessons are one-on-one lessons that provide the player an intimate training atmosphere to improve mechanically. “Private lessons are a viable baseball training solution that addresses the mechanical strengths and weaknesses of the individual. At BLE, we encourage players to schedule privates that compliment group training they are currently enrolled in.
Private lessons can speed along the training process, as individualized needs are met. This intimate training environment is vital to one’s career and has proven its worth for many of our players. However, it is important to fully understand the limitations of private lessons- as too much of anything is never good.
Although privates can improve a player, there is a limit to how much can be effectively taught and retained. The factor of diminishing returns plays a huge role in private lessons, as the one-on-one attention a player receives will not address the sense of urgency when execution is the top priority. Additionally, the coach/player bond thickens with time, resulting in a familiarity that may prove ineffective when addressing the need to consistently expand one’s comfort zone.
I strongly urge players to enroll in private lessons if they are experiencing a slump or need assistance with learning a new skill. However, players should remain sensitive to the shortcomings of this training method.
It is my belief that group training is the ultimate baseball training solution due to the competitive environment it breeds, its sense of urgency for execution, and the ability for players to reflect upon each other’s strengths and weaknesses.”
