All About the Latin American Baseball Classic (LABC)

Shares

The Latin American Baseball Classic (LABC) has been held for the past 30+ years in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. This tournament is the largest international baseball event of Latin America, annually attracting national teams from Canada, USA, and Latin America.

COMPETITION LIKE NO OTHER

Unlike most tournaments, the LABC does not provide outside bids or qualifying events. Bids have been held by national organizations from Canada, USA, and Latin America for years - ensuring top level competition and prestige.

EXPERIENCE THE LABC

There is much more than just baseball that surrounds the LABC. Athletes play games during the day, attend events during the evening, and enjoy the Caribbean when nothing is scheduled. The grandeur of baseball is alive during the LABC, providing athletes and their parents with an experience of a lifetime.

 INTERNATIONAL PARTICIPATION

The LABC annually sees teams representing the Dominican Republic, Canada, USA, Venezuela, St. Croix, St. Thomas, British Virgin Islands, and more. Big League Edge has the only United States bid and has held it since 2007. This tournament is not organized by BLE, as all logistics and bids are controlled by the Latin American Baseball Classic.

TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS AND ACCOMMODATIONS

All USA-Latin American Baseball Classic travelers must book through Big League Edge (per LABC rules). All inclusive hotel accommodations, tournament fees, fields, games, umpires, uniforms, coaching, staffing, transportation, food, beverage, alcohol (21 and up), events, and tours are provided.

The USA-Latin American Baseball Classic takes approximately 250-300 athletes, coaches, and travelers to the Dominican Republic each year to compete in the LABC. Players are rostered from 30+ national tryout events, held across the Nation. Over 5000 athletes nationwide attend tryouts annually.

ABOUT THE LABC

The Latin American Baseball Classic is the largest international baseball event of Latin America. Held for the past 30+ years in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, the LABC annually attracts strong regional and national teams from all across Lation America, Canada, and the United States. The USA bid is solely owned by Big League Edge.

COMPETITION

Strong competition defines the LABC, as teams compete all year to win bids into the LABC. Latin America baseball players play the game as a lifestyle due to baseball's high paying salaries. Their baseball system lacks a college level, which forces them to mature faster in preparation for professional baseball that starts at 16 years old - rather than 18 in the States.
