Did you know? Athletes Swing & Pitch the Same.

IDENTICAL BODY POSITIONINGS - If you take a look at the past 120+ years of baseball, you will discover that Athletes swings and pitching deliveries appear identical at point of contact or release of pitch. No matter the age, body type, nationality, they are identical.

 

The era of the game has no effect upon the aforementioned. Neither does bat spec, bat type, game rules, mound height, or training methodology.

 

Don't take our word for it - Google "point of contact" or "release point" for hitters and pitchers, respectively. And do it from Ted Williams' era to Felix Hernandez' era. Also, research every age and level, along with softball.

 

You will find the same result - Athletes looks the same. This is because human movement is all trying to remain balanced by counterbalancing equal and opposite body parts.

 

If you examine how the human body is physiologically designed, you will discover that joint axis points are BOTH balanced and proportionate in length. Meaning, your elbow rests in the middle of your forearm and upper arm. Your knee is positioned in the middle of your lower and upper legs.

 

This is to create balanced force and assist in keeping you dynamically balanced for movement.

 

 

WHY IS THIS?

If you analyze baseball from a SCIENTIFIC APPROACH, rather than with analytics, you will realize that the answer lies within physics, Newton's Laws of Motion, energy principles, kinesiology, physiology, and the Bernstein and SAID Principles (see below this page for answer).

 

A lot to take in, but in summary:

 

1. Every Athletes body is physiologically designed the same exact way. Same amount of bones in the same positionings. Same attributes. And same focus for movement.

 

2. All human beings use potential, kinetic, mechanical, and elastic energy to move.

 

3. In order to move, you must counterbalance equal and opposite body parts. They must be proportionate in both movement plane(s) and energy flow. If not, you get movement deficiencies that create mechanical flaws.

 

4. Everybody is trying to remain balanced during movement. However, there are NO balance points in athletic or human movement. There are centers of counterbalance that act equal and opposite of each other to ensure energy flow is proportionate. This creates balanced force - as in tug-of-war.

 

5. Energy cannot be destroyed, and must escape somehow. Therefore, if balanced force is attained, movement is peaked and all counterbalanced body parts work against each other to create the balanced force.

 

6. Energy escapement will occur if disproportions exist. This is seen in the opposite reaction. For example, if linear drive force is too great, rotational move will overcompensate.

 

No matter how you break it down, every human body is trying to counterbalance energy to create movement. And since every human body is physiologically designed the same - everybody tries to dynamically balance the same.

 

 

FURTHER EVIDENCE

If we examine other sports, as movement is universal, you will see the same occurances. Softball Athletes get different training and their game happens at a much faster pace than baseball.

 

However, at point or contact, you see the same identical body positionings of females, as you do of their male athlete counterparts. Additionally, softball pitchers all look identical at release, but since they are using an underhand move, their correlation(s) would not be the same as baseball pitchers.

 

Looking at other sports, the same correlations exist. If we examine the regular world and movement within, we see the same. Swinging a hammer, walking, running, lifting, and sitting - all are identical.

 

 

FOR THE CRITIC

The end result OR GOAL of the activity is where you will find the similarities, but getting to the "goal" is what differs.

 

This is due to motor patterning reinforcement(s) that are created by body size, age, injury, fitness levels, and lifestyle reinforcement.

 

For example, ballerinas have bigger calves than distance runners because of activity reinforcement. Likewise, a football player's body will naturally build itself differently than a baseball player due to activity requirements.

 

No matter how one tries to build their body, the human body adapts and creates more or less muscle, motor patterning, etc, to SUPPORT movement reinforcement. This is explained further in the Bernstein and SAID Principles.

 

The differences you see should not be misinterpretted, as they are being utilized BY EVERY HUMAN BODY to create the same exact thing - dynamic balance.
