It has been a banner year for tryouts, as United States-LABC international trials saw over 5000 athletes attend events in 2018.
Events were held between November 2017 and March 2018 all across the United States, averaging over 120 athletes per event. Talent remained high this year, with new events planned for 2019.
Tryout events are hosted by local or regional baseball facilities and directors, providing the needed infrastructure to put on a United States-LABC international baseball teams event.
"We are excited with all the partnerships we have forged all the way this tryout season. Every tryout host did their part and provided the logistical support our events require." Stated United State - LABC International Baseball Teams Director and NCAA pitching coach Sean Taunt.
As usual, SoCal trials brought out some of the best athletes rostered this season. Midwest events were surprisingly positive - with roughly thirty percent of all athletes rostered coming from this region.
Historically, the Northeast has produced some extreme talent, with this year being no different.
"I saw one of the most talented 14 year olds in Philly this year in Angel Martinez. Aggressive, powerful, and explosive is all I can say about this young man." Stated LABC-USA International Baseball Teams Director and former MLB pitcher Jim Parque.
2018 LABC-USA international baseball teams will be comprised of athletes whom represent 16 different states in the ages of 9-18. Coaching staffs have been set, with an all star cast of MLB, MiLB, and NCAA baseball coaches.
